Welcome to San Ramon

What used to be the largest single orchard of Bartlett pears in the world is now the thriving business park known as Bishop Ranch and the center of the exciting City of San Ramon. Today that pear is proudly displayed as the logo of the San Ramon Farmers Market celebrates the bounty of local farmers year round and welcomes residents and visitors to its site in the parking lot of the new City Center. San Ramon, located about 35 miles east of San Francisco, is about 18 and a half square miles nestled between the communities of Danville and Dublin. It is one of the more desirable places to live in the San Ramon Valley with its scenic beauty, charming neighborhoods, top-rated schools, the Iron Horse Trail, and more than 57 parks including Central Park, the site of the annual Art and Wind Festival held every Memorial Day weekend.

The thriving family-friendly community along the Highway 680 corridor with easy access to commute routes into San Francisco and Silicon Valley also celebrates a rich history and is proud to preserve Forest Home Farms, a 16-acre farm bequeathed to the city by the Boone family. The historic park is the location of many annual events and school-age children learn about the San Ramon Valley’s past during annual field trips and visits. From beautiful single-family homes on the west side at the base of the Las Trampas Ridge to the newer developments of Gale Ranch and Windemere, condominiums, and garden homes, San Ramon offers an abundance of housing options.
